Heidy Vaquerano is an Entertainment Attorney based in Los Angeles. She is also the Managing Director of Girls in Tech, Los Angeles.
In this episode, we discuss…
- Her non-traditional education path to becoming an attorney, including the internship she got during college.
- How she was able to mesh her two worlds, of being an entertainment attorney and segueing into tech.
Listen to an update of Heidy's story here.

My Thoughts After the Conversation
More, please
While Heidy and I were discussing her high school trip to Paris, she mentioned doing a semester abroad the Sorbonne (University of Paris). I forgot to come back to this conversation when we discussed her college experience.
What I learned
I learned a lot about the indie music scene here in Los Angeles. And that there is potato mesh wi-fi system, which is used to provide low-cost phone and Internet in areas where alternative access either doesn't exist or is too expensive (see the “Mentioned in the Episode” section for a video explaining this technology).
Up-level your game
Enter skill + resources.Being inquisitive has served Heidy well. In episode 4 with Sowmya Murthy, Sowmya mentioned how being curious was something that helped her as a consultant. I believe being inquisitive and curious go hand-in-hand so I am going to recommended the same book – Curious – as a resource if you consider it a flatside.
If Heidy was a song, she would be…
